The Compliance Coordinator ensures that all the required contacts, and visits, for all AFS hosted students, host families, and schools on the Area Team are conducted and logged in a timely way. These contacts and visits are required by AFS-USA, AFS International, CSIET (Council on Standards for International Education Travel) and the US DoS (United States Department of State) and are designed to ensure the safety and well-being of participants. In this role, you will need to be knowledgeable about these standards and regulations and will act as a resource and educator for the volunteer support network, host families, and hosted students on your team.
Tasks
- Monitor contacts and visits for the Area Team at least monthly to ensure all contacts are being made and logged in a timely manner.
- Toward the end of each month, follow up with liaisons who are missing contacts to ensure that either they make and record the contact, or that another volunteer on the team conducts and logs the contact.
- Train volunteers to report and document any missing contacts to ensure clear and accurate reporting.
- Act as the first point of contact for Volunteer Leaders regarding compliance related questions. Act as a resource for the Volunteer Support Network including which could include Team Support Coordinator, Associate Support Coordinator, and Liaison Coordinator and (or Liaisons. directly if appropriate)
- Collaborate and consult with staff as needed when addressing compliance related questions and concerns from the Team.
- Monitor progress as liaisons are recruited, registered, and trained prior to student' arrivals to ensure that prior to arrival, each student has a registered and trained liaison.
- Work with the Quality Assurance and Compliance Coordinator (QCC) staff, Team Support Coordinators, Liaison Coordinators, and Liaisons to ensure contacts and visits are completed and recorded on time.
- Prior to moving a participant, Work with the Regional Field Specialist (RFS), QCC, Team Hosting Coordinator and Team Support Coordinator to ensure the prospective host family is fully screened and oriented.
