Due to the ongoing impact of COVID-19 our current scholarship opportunities are limited. Please refer to this article from the Study Abroad FAQs for more information. We hope to bring back our full repertoire of scholarships in the 2022 year.
This article will walk through how to find to which scholarships the student has applied, the amount (if any) they have been awarded, and their remaining balance. A glossary is included to help you understand the different stages and statuses of an applicant’s scholarship.
First follow these steps to find the student in Global Link:
1. Select Participant Application from the Search menu on the left and enter the student's name.
2. Click on the student's Service Ref number here:
3. Once the Service Case: Detail page opens, look for the Finance Info. tab in the upper left.
4. Click on the Sponsor/Scholarship tab to see all of the scholarships for which the student has applied:
If this tab is blank, it means the student has not applied for any scholarships yet.
Students move through different stages and statuses as they move through the scholarship application process. Here are the definitions for decoding the Stage and Status columns:
Scholarship Status | Scholarship Stage | What it Means |
Pending | Candidate | Student has expressed interest and is working on the scholarship forms. |
Pending | Finalist | All forms are in and ready for committee review. |
Pending | Winner | Application reviewed and student won award but student hasn't returned the acceptance form yet. |
Accepted | Winner | Student submitted the acceptance form, and the award was posted to their account. |
Closed | Non-winner | Student did not qualify for award during committee review. |
Closed | Candidate | Student decided not to apply due to withdrawal or rollover. |
Closed | Winner | Student won an award but has since decided not to go abroad. |
Ineligible | Candidate | Student didn't submit forms in time for consideration. |
