What is the link to log into Global Link/MyAFS?
http://usa.afsglobal.org or http://myafs.afsusa.org/ both go to the same place!
Who has access to Global Link/MyAFS?
All registered AFS volunteers and all AFS-USA staff.
What is the difference between Global Link and MyAFS?
MyAFS provides a more user-friendly view of the information housed in Global Link. However, there are some things that MyAFS can't do yet, so Global Link is still available for all volunteers by clicking on the Global Link option here:
How do I change my photo?
Visit the section How to Add or Change your AFS Profile Photo for instructions.
How do I get a Global Link UserId & Password?
Your UserID and Password are the same as those you used to register as a volunteer. Starting in 2017 we asked that all UserIDs be your primary email address. You can change your password at any time!
If you can't find your UserID, or can't remember you password, please feel free to re-set your password by clicking here:
What if I have questions?
Please search the Help & Learning articles to see if they can answer your questions. You can also reach out to our help desk at AskAFS@afsusa.org!
What type of computer / internet connection do I need to access Global Link?
We have thoroughly tested Global Link with the Internet Explorer and Firefox web browsers, but others should also work. These are free, and we can help you get them if you do not have them now. A high speed connection to the internet would provide the best experience, but Global Link may also be used with a slower dial-up connection, even if some searches may be quite slow. Also, because there is a lot of information on most of the screens in Global Link, older monitors with a screen resolution of 800x600 may make your use of Global Link more difficult.
MyAFS should work well on all browsers and from any device! Please note that the training modules in our Training Center work best in Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Mozilla Firefox.
Is the information about me secure on Global Link?
Other registered volunteers and staff will be able to see basic information about you such as your home address, phone number, and email address. It is important that volunteers can easily see information about other volunteers to be able to contact and recruit other volunteers. Your social security number, that you needed to enter for volunteer registration, is not stored on Global Link, and thus can not be seen by staff or volunteers.
