AFS-USA has a corporate communications department that sets media policies and procedures for AFS-USA volunteers and staff. This department interfaces with other departments as needed, including Participant Support, Marketing, Program Operations, and Risk Management. When necessary and appropriate, the department also works with AFS International and media and legal consultants.
