The Marketing Coordinator is a registered AFS volunteer working to promote AFS opportunities within their team and local community. The Marketing Coordinator’s work will focus on advertising, events, and public relations.
Marketing outreach efforts can include, but are not limited to:
- Social media
- Tabling events and presentations
- Engaging local host families and students in promotions
- Local media outreach
- Digital advertising
- Ordering team print and giveaway materials
- Creating materials utilizing AFS-USA designs
- Content collection and sharing
Volunteer Commitment
- 10 to 20 hours a month
- Minimum one-year commitment
- Work in collaboration with AFS-USA Marketing Department to ensure brand compliance
- Attend Marketing and other organizational webinars for volunteers to stay up to date with programs, opportunities, and resources available for promotion.
Training
- Webinars hosted by Marketing Department (recorded and posted on Help & Learning)
- Additional trainings as they become available
Tasks
- Work with area team in planning and goal setting
- Keep up to date on team budget and Sponsored Programs funds available for promotional efforts
- Engage other volunteers in promotional efforts
- Identify and connect with organizations/groups in local community to promote AFS opportunities
- Utilize marketing designs and resources for social media and other advertising
- Identify and/or develop events where your team could have a presence and promote AFS-USA
- Collect and share content (photos, videos, testimonials) from your team’s students, families, and volunteers
