The online Host Family Orientation (HFO) is a three-part course that introduces new and returning Host Families to the key roles and responsibilities heading into an AFS exchange experience.
In order to satisfy AFS-USA’s requirements for this training every host family must complete each of the modules described below and pass the short quiz that follows each one. Per Department of State regulations, the Host Family Orientation can only be completed after a host family has been fully screened, including completing their in-home interview and background checks. Thus, Hosting Operations staff will email host families the links to complete the orientation at the appropriate part of the screening process. Please keep in mind that it can take up to one hour for Global Link to register when the online HFO has been completed. If a family needs a link re-sent or is experiencing problems, please have them contact email@example.com.
Please keep in mind that in order for our system to register that the training has been completed, each slide must be reviewed.
