Thanks for your interest in learning more about conducting interviews! Interviews are a key component in the screening and selection of our host families, study abroad students, and new volunteers. In many cases, the interview is the first direct contact an applicant has with AFS, which provides an opportunity to educate and inform applicants about the variety of AFS program and volunteer opportunities, and to help answer any questions they might have.
Not only are they important to the AFS-USA mission and organization, but they're also an excellent, low-commitment way to volunteer. You will be able to interact with a variety of people in the community in a way that is flexible and works with your schedule.
