Field Staff can submit Bio Edit Requests using this form. Please read on for guidelines prior to submission.
Student Biographies are a key representation of the student to potential host families. Often the first impression a family gets can leave a lasting positive or negative perception of a student and the organization.
Here are some guidelines to review prior to submission. Each biographical summary should:
- Be as close to 600 characters as possible.
- Have the first two sentences be longer and more encompassing as these are often what is shown on the AFS-USA “Meet the Student” website.
- Include facts relating to personality, current interests, hobbies, academic interests, family life, language ability, future aspirations and hopes for their exchange year.
- Avoid using the words sporty, quiet, shy, is known, is said, or very. Instead, use the words athletic, reflective, described as, etc.
