Having resources to respond to hosted students and host families' learning needs and support emergencies is crucial for AFS volunteers to feel empowered and comfortable in their various support and educational roles. The Participant Support Dept. strives to continuously expand training opportunities and resources for AFS volunteers. We would like to understand your team’s support and/or intercultural learning training needs.
If volunteers in your team are in need of the aforementioned trainings, please submit the Training Proposal Form. Team Development Specialist (TDS) approval is required before submission of proposal.
The proposal will be reviewed by staff and a decision will be made in accordance with a priority level and available resources. This proposal is solely intended for support and/or ICL training.
Please discuss other training needs with your Team Development Specialist (TDS). In evaluating the training request, we also may ask your team (liaisons and/or team leadership) to fill out the support training needs assessment survey to better understand a nature of your team and its support/ICL training needs.
