Understanding what resources AFS-USA and other organizations have when you find an educator is a great way to connect people with tools that will enhance the work that they are already doing in the classroom.
The "A Peek into the World of AFS Educator Resources" presentation was facilitated by Mary Porterfield and Nancy Bridges of the Heartland Area Team in Kansas and they were shocked by how many of the volunteers present in their sessions were completely unaware of the tremendous bank of resources that are offered to educators through our website and other means! Don’t let that be you!
Please go through the PowerPoint and consider visiting the Educators page on the AFS-USA website to explore the resources in the Teachers Toolbox yourself before you go and visit with a school. You’ll be amazed at what a school can do with the AFS Global Competency Readiness Index and the variety of lesson plans available to help globalize a school and/or a classroom!
If you still have questions after reading through the presentation and exploring the websites indicated, please reach out to Jill Woerner, Director of Educational Outreach (firstname.lastname@example.org).
