What is the plan for Arrival Orientation and other Orientations this Year?
AFS-USA requires all Arrival Orientations to be held virtually due to the rapidly evolving landscape and the need for many students to quarantine for a period prior to beginning any in-person school instruction. In the case of all other orientations, volunteers must follow state, territorial, tribal, and local recommendations and requirements.
Arrival Orientation Materials have been revised to include content specific to the 20-21 cycle, and to accommodate a virtual format.
Similarly, the Host Family Orientation materials have been revised to include new information specific to this cycle and to accommodate implementation in a virtual format.
