The planned arrival dates for Core (non-ECA Sponsored Program) participants are August 7 and September 11, 2024, unless otherwise agreed by AFS-USA with Sending Partner. August or September arrival dates are determined based on the timing of when the student’s placement is finalized. Students with a confirmed placement by July 24, 2024 are expected to arrive in the US during the August 9 travel date, while students whose placement is confirmed after July 24 and before August 31 will arrive on September 11.
Requests to arrive on a date earlier than a participant’s planned/approved arrival date will be considered on a case-by-case basis and will be considered ONLY if it is a requirement of the participant's host school.
ECA Sponsored Program participant arrival dates will follow a similar timeline to past years with students arriving from late July through early September 2024 depending on their program.
International Arrival Requirements for the US, if any, will be communicated to participants in advance of their arrival to the US by our AFS Network Partners abroad to help ensure a smooth arrival.
