AFS Year and Semester Fall programs are on schedule to operate as planned. Applicants just participated in their Program Preparation webinars and we continue to communicate host family placements as they come in, work on visa and residence permit preparation/acquisition, and finalize participant acceptance. At this time, we do not foresee any of our Year and Semester programs being newly impacted by COVID-19. We are sharing with applicants and parents the most up to date information about entry requirements, quarantine, PCR testing/vaccinations and in country regulations that we have, when we have it.
AFS-USA offered a reduced portfolio of program offerings for Summer 2021, which we continue to monitor for feasibility. During the week of May 24, 2021, participants and families will be informed of the status of their program. As always, the safety of our participants remains a top priority and we are monitoring the conditions, policy recommendations, and on the ground perspectives from our partners closely.

Due to the impact of the pandemic, AFS-USA has limited national scholarships available during this period of recovery. We are encouraging local teams to update their local scholarship information and use those scholarships to award participants from their teams.
AFS-USA is no longer able to offer to Global Leaders Scholarship, but has maintained its relationship with FAST, which is the system that can determine financial aid qualifications for applicants. Please contact the study abroad team (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you have further questions about this or want more information.
