A Plan for Success is another excellent collaborative support resource. The goal of the Plan for Succes is to help the participant focus on what needs to be done, utilizing the applicable AFS Learning Objectives such as, to analyze the situation and think creatively, resolve conflicts, accept responsibility for oneself and adapt to new environments. The Plan for Success should be the participant’s proposed solution to the problems identified. It is a written plan signed by the participant, support volunteer and, at times, the host family to resolve the issues. It is not a list of requirements but more a way in which the challenges which may be at play can come to light and all parties can come together to reflect the ways in which they will address the concerns and support each other to work through them together. This Microlearning strives to provide an overview of the Plan for Success, when to consider facilitating a Plan for Success and where to find these templates on Help and Learning.
