The Support Agreement is yet another Support document for a volunteer’s support toolkit. A Support Agreement is a written Support document that may be an escalation to non-compliance with a Plan for Success. It could also be used to address the first occurrence of a more moderate behavioral issue. It is a written agreement signed by the participant, support volunteer, host family, and sending parent. The goal of the Support Agreement is to outline the areas of concern which may be impacting the student from achieving a successful program. It also provides a list of areas in which all parties (student, host family and volunteers) will collectively work to support and take steps to address the matter at hand. Preparation of the Support Agreement requires close communication with support staff at the national office for guidance, and coordination with the partner country staff who interact with the Sending parents. This Microlearning strives to provide an overview of the Support Agreement, when to consider implementing a Support Agreement and where to find these templates on Help and Learning.
