Contactless information sharing has become very important in today's world! QR codes are becoming increasingly popular and useful. AFS-USA volunteers can use them to promote AFS-USA!
So, what exactly is a QR code, and how do they work?
A QR (Quick Response) Code is a two-dimensional barcode that is readable by smartphones. QR Codes may be used to display text to the user, to open a URL, save a contact to the address book or to compose text messages.
To read QR Codes with your smartphone, you need an appropriate software installed (although most smartphones can now read them directly from their camera).
Using a QR code is simple – you can print it for use on flyers or other promotional items, or share them digitally via email, etc.
AFS-USA pre-made QR Codes:
There are both free and paid services to create QR codes – be careful to choose one that won’t charge you after a “trial period” or has a limit on the number of opens to your generated QR codes. Here is one we would recommend: www.the-qrcode-generator.com
