AFS participants have been advised, prior to program, that school related immunization requirements must be met as part of their participation in an AFS program.
If a school requires the COVID-19 vaccine, booster or any other immunization and the AFS participant does not have a medical, religious or other state specific acceptable reason to not receive the vaccine(s), the AFS participant will need to comply with this requirement or risk not being able to begin or complete their program.
If a participant has received a COVID-19 vaccine or booster that does not meet host school requirements a host school may request the participant receive a qualifying vaccine. If you experience this challenge and need support in discussing with the sending parent(s)/guardian(s), feel free to contact your Support staff who can help you to successfully navigate.
