In the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 cycles (NH20 and NH21), a virtual interview was able to serve as a “placeholder” for initial placements and allow for the host family application to be accepted until conditions allowed for an in-person interview. At this time, we do not anticipate the need to continue that practice for the 2022-2023 cycle (NH22). While volunteers may choose to do an interview virtually due to local COVID-19 related circumstances, the family’s application will not be accepted until a follow-up is conducted in person. An in-home host family interview must be completed and submitted in order for the host family application to be transferred to the partner.
