The information about schools in MyAFS is only accurate if we all work together to keep it current. If you see information that is missing or incorrect, PLEASE correct it or ask your School Partnerships staff person to update it on your behalf. Thank you for your help!
The first step in finding school information in MyAFS is to go to the Team section on the left-hand menu:
From here, find the Schools tab:
Currently, schools are displayed based on their Hosting Status, so you may need to use the drop down to select more options in order to find a specific school. If you still can’t find a specific school you may need to look in Global Link instead.
To see more detail about a specific school in MyAFS, click on the school’s name.
The school shown here has many contact people listed:
Note that this school has a volunteer who is building or has established a relationship with the school, the AFS School Representative. To be listed as an AFS School Representative, please take the School Outreach training and let the School Partnerships staff know so we can make sure you are affiliated with the school properly. You can also learn more about the staff and volunteer roles when it comes to schools be reading Volunteer and Staff Roles in School Relationships.
Some schools, like the one pictured below, may have very little information recorded regarding the best school staff and volunteer contacts for the school. You can help fix that by clicking on “View on Global Link” and adding more information. Detailed instructions on how to make updates in Global Link can be found here. In Global Link we can also record additional information about a school such as its acceptance criteria for exchange students, annual school start and end dates, and a contact log where conversations with school staff can be documented.
If you have any questions about school information in MyAFS or in Global Link, please contact your School Partnerships staff person as found in the Team directory.
