How to download the team calendar template
My team calendar is ready to publish; now what?
Why create a team calendar?
Does your team already have a team calendar? Is it easy to access online for all volunteers, host families, and students? If not, the Volunteer Engagement Advisory Group has created a template that you can download and customize for your own team's needs. This example of a team calendar comes to you from the Arizona team and includes the events and ways that they organize all of their team opportunities. Once you download the template, you can edit and include/delete any details that you'd like!
How to download the team calendar template
Your team calendar needs to be located in a google drive in order to be published in your MyAFS Team Widget. We recommend that team calendars are created in an AFS google drive, which volunteers are welcome to request according to this article about creating an AFS google account. Or your team calendar can be housed in an AFS organizational drive instead of in an individual volunteer's account, which you can request at AskAFS@afsusa.org.

My team calendar is ready to publish; now what?
Once you have completed your team calendar, and it's located in a google drive, you can write to AskAFS@afsusa.org to request that the link to your team calendar be added to your team's MyAFS Team Widget. You'll include the link to the document with sharing settings set to "anyone with the link can view" so that you can still edit your calendar at any time on the back end, but others can only view it.
In your calendar document, click "Share" in the top right corner:
The pop-up box will show the sharing settings, and you should select the two drop-down fields to be "Anyone with the link" and "Viewer." With these settings, you can still edit the calendar at any time, and anyone viewing the calendar will see live updates.
Once you've have those settings, copy that link and send it to AskAFS.
The link to your team's calendar will look like the screenshot below when ready! Write to AskAFS@afsusa.org with questions.
