National Interviewers are trained study abroad interviewers who have agreed to also be available to conduct virtual interviews of study abroad applicants on a national level. They are given a separate affiliation that allows them to view nationally available study abroad applicants on the Interviews widget of MyAFS, claim those interviews, and conduct/log those interviews. This role is necessary when there are pending interviews that are coming due (or sometimes overdue) and no local volunteer/team willing or able to conduct them.
As a National Interviewer it is expected that you will frequently log into MyAFS to see if there are national interviews that need to be conducted, and when possible, that you will prioritize claiming those interviews so they can be conducted as soon as possible. Sometimes staff may reach out to the National Interviewer group to make specific requests; especially where we need a quick turnaround.
Tasks
- Perform national level interviews in a timely manner.
- Help answer questions or concerns on applicants and parents during, or after, the interview process.
